Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of this website and the moving services provided by Ballard’s Biz (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By contacting us or booking a service, you agree to these terms.
1. Our Services
Ballard’s Moving Company provides labor-only moving services. This means we supply the crew to load and/or unload your belongings — you arrange the moving truck, or we can arrange a U-Haul rental on your behalf. We do not provide full-service moving or transportation.
Services include but are not limited to:
- Loading and/or unloading a rental truck or storage unit
- Apartment moves
- Senior moving assistance
- Last-minute and emergency moves
- College student moves
Service areas include Colorado Springs, the Front Range, and select mountain communities in Colorado. Contact us to confirm availability for your location.
2. Quotes and Pricing
Quotes provided by phone, email, or through our website contact form are estimates based on the information you provide. Final pricing is confirmed before work begins. We charge by the hour with a two-hour minimum. There are no hidden fees — what we quote is what you pay.
Rates may vary based on crew size, distance, job complexity, and time of year. We will communicate any adjustments before your move date.
3. Booking and Cancellation
A booking is confirmed when you receive written or verbal confirmation from us. If you need to cancel or reschedule:
- 48+ hours notice: No charge
- 24–47 hours notice: A cancellation fee may apply
- Less than 24 hours notice: A cancellation fee equal to the two-hour minimum will be charged
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule due to weather, equipment issues, or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, no fee will be charged.
4. Customer Responsibilities
To ensure a smooth move, you are responsible for:
- Arranging a properly sized rental truck, or requesting that we arrange a U-Haul on your behalf
- Ensuring parking access and elevator reservations (if applicable) at both locations
- Properly packing boxes and fragile items before the crew arrives
- Disclosing any items of unusual size, weight, or fragility in advance
5. Liability and Damage
Ballard’s Moving Company is licensed and insured in the state of Colorado. In the event of damage caused by our crew during the normal course of moving, we will work with you to resolve the issue fairly.
We are not liable for:
- Damage to improperly packed items or items you have packed yourself
- Pre-existing damage to furniture, appliances, or property
- Damage resulting from customer-directed placement or stacking
- Loss or damage to high-value items (jewelry, cash, documents, electronics) unless specifically disclosed and agreed upon in writing in advance
- Damage to particle board, pressed wood, or flat-pack furniture (including IKEA-style pieces), which are inherently fragile and not covered regardless of how the damage occurred
- Items shifting, falling, or sustaining damage during transit in a customer-supplied rental truck — once loaded, the customer assumes responsibility for safe driving and any in-transit damage
- Damage to the rental truck, POD, or storage container itself
Damage must be reported before the crew leaves the premises. Any claim submitted after the crew has departed will not be considered. We strongly recommend inspecting your belongings before signing off on the job.
We recommend photographing your belongings before the move and reviewing your renter’s or homeowner’s insurance policy, as it may provide coverage for items in transit.
6. Customer-Caused Delays
Time is billed from when the crew arrives at the first location. If delays occur due to circumstances within the customer’s control — including but not limited to blocked driveways, unavailable elevators, incomplete packing, or inaccessible units — that time is billed at the standard hourly rate.
7. Payment and Damage Claims
All outstanding balances must be paid in full before a damage claim will be reviewed or processed. A customer may not withhold payment pending resolution of a damage dispute.
9. Website Use

11. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. Any disputes arising from our services or these terms shall be resolved in El Paso County, Colorado.
